My good friend Marcus Wick shared a powerful word that really blessed me and I think might bless you all. Hebrews 12:14 states as follows: “Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no will see the Lord:”. We would say things like; ‘you better be holy if you every want to see the Lord.” Whatever holiness was, we knew that we must have it or we had no hope of seeing the Lord. Holiness simply has to do with being separated unto the Lord and apart from the corruption that is in this world system. It has nothing to do with thinking one is better than another. An example of holiness would be that because of my acceptance in Christ; I am separated from needing the approval of man. Hence, I am free to love you whether that love is returned to me or not. What Hebrews 12:14 is saying is that without the fruit of holiness people will not see the Lord through me. Holiness is a fruit; not a root of relationship with Jesus (see Romans 6:22). Without the fruit, people will question the root of my fellowship with Him. As true holiness flourishes in our lives, all people will see the Lord (see Eph. 4:24). Wow!
