“The Danger of Sincerity Without Truth”
We often hear people say, “Well, they are sincere,” like sincerity validates a belief system. “For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. (Romans 10:2, 3) The days will come when they that kill you will sincerely believe that they are doing God’s service. (See John 16:2)
Boy, have we seen this in our day.
Sincerity is NOT a validation of truth. Then what is? I’m glad you asked. Sanctify them through Your Word. Your Word is truth (John 17:17)
The only way to measure a belief system is by the Truth itself, not one’s sincerity.
