Week 47 – 2019

Galatians 5:9 from the Amplified Bibles states as follows: “A little leaven (a slight inclination to error, or a few false teachers) leavens the whole lump [it perverts the whole conception of faith or misleads the whole church].” The book of Galatians is dealing with believers receiving the mixing of law and grace, Notice that this verse says that it perverts the entire concept of faith. For years I thought strong faith was something that I had to work up. I did not realize that the faith that I already have, becomes strong in my walk, as I focus on Jesus as its Object. For example: “if I ask my wife to get me a glass of water, I do not have to wring my hands or confess 100 times that she will get me a glass of water. Why? Because I know her and my faith rests in her character, knowing that I have the glass of water even though it is not yet physically in my hand. My faith is strong because of my relationship with her. In the same way the faith that we possess becomes strong through fellowship with the Lord. That faith is perfected or made mature through correct teaching that points you to YOUR personal relationship with the Holy Spirit (see 1 Thess. 3:10). Glory!
