Week 45 – 2015

1 John 4:19 declares that “we love Him, (or we love), because He first loved us.” (See NASB, Greek). Many have taken this verse and similar verses to say that God loves me, no matter what or how I conduct myself. Therefore I will live however my flesh feels like conducting its behavior. While it is true that God does love us no matter how we live, and that He does not withdrawal His love from us, it is also true that His love must be received by us if it is to manifest fruit in our walk. Consider 1 Corinthians 8:3 which states: “but if any man love God, the same is known of God.” I believe that loving on God through vehicles such as worship, praise, thanksgiving, meditating His Word, praying in the spirit, etc. are acts of faith that receive God’s love for us on a personal basis. To respond to God’s love for you, by loving on Him is the very act of faith that allows the promises of God to become impregnated with the very life of God on your behalf. Notice how 1 John 4:19 says “we love God or we respond in love BECAUSE…” In other words we who receive His love, do or respond, by loving in return. We do not love to be loved; we love because we ARE loved. So go ahead “Beloved” and allow yourself to BE-Loved. Go ahead and love on the One who loves you with His everlasting love and receive (in manifestation), a love that far surpasses finite human understanding. (Jeremiah 31:3, Ephesians 3:14- 21). Hear what the Spirit is attempting to say through this earthen vessel. Blessings.
