I was thinking about what it means to pray in the name of Jesus. While there are many things to say, the primary point that needs to be realized is that the use of His name is like using a signed check on the resources that His redemptive work has made available. For example: “I have often prayed and said in the Name of Jesus at the end of my prayer. Instead of resting in the power and resources behind that Name I would begin to wonder if I had done enough, or said the prayer correctly, etc. In the Name of Jesus is a declaration that the answer is to be received based on His merit and not my performance. The more we understand what is behind His Name the more confidence we will have in our daily walk. Remember to bring every thought into captivity to HIS obedience, not yours, and know that you HAVE the Name above all names, in which every knee and circumstance must bow. Whatever name your situation has; you have the Name that is far above it (see 2 Cor. 10:5; Phil. 2:9, 10). Let’s say it together. WOW!
