“Are There Doctrinal Absolutes and Is There Ever A Time To Separate?”
I will keep this short for technically this could be a very long post. “Mark them which cause divisions and offenses contrary to the doctrine you have learned and avoid them.” (Romans 16:17) Cease my son, to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge. (Proverbs 19:27) Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners (habits, morals) (1 Corinthians 15:33)
The Greek word for “communications” in this verse is “homilia” where we get the word for “homily” which is the word used for a religious discourse or sermon. Wow!
The Apostle Paul actually turned a couple of individuals espousing false doctrine over to satan. It sounds like false doctrine is a pretty serious matter. (see 1 Timothy 1:19,20) (many more verses could be sited) This idea that we are to accept all doctrinal beliefs in the name of love, including those who reject the work of Christ by denying His Blood, penal substitution, freewill, etc.is pure unscriptural nonsense. While there’s certainly room for various understandings of Truth there is a grave Danger when we start messing with foundational truth. In the same manner in which I am adamant that no adult man should enter the restroom with my ten-year-old daughter, is the same disposition I believe God holds as it pertains to foundational truth. Believe it or not, there are still some Doctrinal absolutes!
