Gaining more information does not necessarily translate into Christian growth. While gaining more information is necessary, and can assist growth, it can also resist growth. Gaining more information resists growth when one believes that IT (information) IS, (in and of itself) the very essence of growth. If a believer thinks they know anything; they know nothing as they ought. It does not say they don’t know anything; but that what is known; is not known as it ought to be known; which is progressive and inexhaustible. (1 Cor. 8:2) So the question I must ask myself states as follows: “Is the information I’m gaining assisting my growth; or resisting my growth? If it is pointing me to my relationship with the Lord, it is assisting. If not; it is resisting. Something to ponder for sure.
