“What’s Up With The Cuss?”
I have noticed that there are some of the grace persuasion who perceive themselves as so free, they have no problem using vulgarities. Paul spoke of not using one’s Christian liberty as an occasion to the flesh, but by love, we are to serve one another. (See Galatians 5:13) I cannot speak for other members of the body of Christ, but hearing someone’s potty mouth on Facebook or elsewhere does not serve any benefit to me or my family. It seems that rather than seeking to edify others, some are bent on pushing the envelope in an effort to prove what they deem as freedom. Bondage to the impulses of the flesh which includes an unbridled tongue is NOT the freedom of a love that seeks to serve one another. (See James 1:26; James 3:2) It is NOT grace that allows offensive corrupt communication to flow from one’s mouth. (See Ephesians 4:29) Just saying.
